Veteran Peabody Police Officer Suspended For Allegedly Breaking Into Lynn Home

A 13-year veteran of the Peabody Police Department is suspended with pay after he was charged with breaking and entering into a home in Lynn, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said.

Officer James Festa is being held without bail after he was he was arrested by Lynn Police on 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10, the office reports. Officers responded after getting a report that a man had broken into the property and refused to leave. 

Peabody Police subsequently placed Festa on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the investigation. He has was arraigned Wednesday afternoon Lynn District Court and is expected to be appear for a dangerousness hearing Thursday, Boston.com reports
